Borage seed oil (Borago officinalis) has the highest natural content of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) among vegetable oils (approx. 20%). The oil from the seeds of the evening primrose (Oenothera biennis), which is native to North America, also contains approx. 9% GLA. This unsaturated fatty acid plays a significontainert role in important metabolic processes, especially in the skin.
